She had us at the rhyme in the first stanza:
"Something There Is That Doesn't Love A Hole"
from gloriana casey
WaMu, WaMu, you left a Hole,
Lake and Calaveras!
A Hole, a Hole, like empty eye;
Us ---it does embarrass!
YES! Something doesn't love a hole
within the human mind.
It wants to plant a thing right in,
grow healthy over time.
Like ancient cyclops, that blank eye,
it glares at city true.
We want it filled with usefulness,
so city has more glue!
And really, I do wonder now
for long that Hole stands blank.
It seems land owner lost the way,
plus money in the bank.
As Robert Frost wrote in a poem,
" Fences make good neighbors."
Our empty hole, it lies now stabbed
with economic sabers!
Although, Frost wasn't really sure
why people quote that truth.
I think it's like in olden times
when neighbors raised barn roof.
In that we see a unity,
democracy of small,
when neighbors work to fill the void
with growth pleasing to all!
And best of all, it made me smile
for County had said, "yes,"
to build a new Ralphs in that space
and give food choice some zest!
This hole, this hole, this empty hole,
a cyclops empty eye!
This site, this site, reclaim the blight,
and prosper by and by.
