Several businesswomen from Altadena, La Canada Flintridge, and La Crescenta will be among 30 honorees at the 13th Annual Women in Business Legislative Update and Awards Luncheon on Aug. 17.
The awards were announced by State Senator Carol Liu (D-La Cañada Flintridge) and Assemblymembers Mike Gatto (D – Los Angeles) and Anthony Portantino (D-La Cañada Flintridge.
The Women in Business Awards honors “local women whose exceptional abilities have contributed to the economic vitality and diversity of the 21st State Senate and 43rd and 44th Assembly Districts. “
Among the Outstanding Small Businesswoman category are Inger Miller and Jill Hawkins of Miller Hawkins Productions and Lori Webster of Webster’s Fine Stationers. Emma Garabetian of Modella Uniforms in Pasadena/La Crescenta and Patty Parker of Verizon Wireless Franchise in Los Angeles/La Canada Flintridge were also recognized.
Rubin Hughes, CEO of Abode Communities (Los Angeles/Altadena) and Christy Zamani of Day One in Pasadena were named Outstanding Non-Profit Executive Director.
