AKA to recognize community leaders

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will honor the contributions of local community leaders at its regional conference on April 17-20 at the Pasadena Convention Center.  The community is invited to a public meeting and reception on April 17, honoring Sheldon Epps (artistic director of the Pasadena Playhouse), Joe and Ruthie Hopkins (founders and owners of The Pasadena Journal News), Versie Mae Richardson  (founder of Alkebu-lan Cultural Center) and Dr. Juanita Watts of Kaiser Permanente, among others.  For more information on conference activities, contact Ruthie Hopkins at (626) 798-3972, ruthhopkins@pacbell.net
