KABC reports that 1,400 residents of Altadena and La Canada had their power knocked out by today's high winds. Clyde and Yvonne Jennings reported that the top of their palm tree snapped right off.
(Note: this story is instructive as to the average intelligence of the TV news reporter: revel in creative language such as: "Mother Nature was in a fowl [sic] mood overnight" and "Residents were not able to access [that is, assess] the damage in their yards until daybreak." These people have jobs, print reporters lose 'em. Go figure.]
