Posting to the local newsgroups: an opportunistic hot burglary (i.e. with people in the house) at the corner of Highview and Harriet at 4 PM on May 8. The perp came through an unlocked front door and grabbed what they could -- a jar of change, an empty purse, and a laptop on the dining room table.
Altadenablog notes that there have been several incidents of opportunistic thefts reported lately -- delivered packages swiped from front porches, perps taking from unlocked cars while you're carrying in the groceries, etc. Be aware of your surroundings and take care of basic security!
