Way back on May 21, after the town council meeting where the list of town council candidates was set, Altadenablog typed it up at around 11 o'clock at night after a loooooong day. We misplaced some commas, misspelled Alan Wasserman's name ("Allan"), and put Dr. Sandra Thomas in the nonexistent census tract 4603.03 (it should be .02). We also put the incumbents names' first, and the others followed in no particular order (i.e. if they were alphabetical, it was entirely by accident, not design).
When we got the official notice from the town that the election was going on, imagine our surprise to get a list with the names in the order we set up, and all of our mistakes intact -- commas, census tract, Allan. This list was passed around on the various newsgroups, also with Altadenablog's original mistakes.
Over time, we corrected the commas, attention was called to the nonexistent census tract (thank you, Bev!) and we discovered "Allan" Wasserman on our own and corrected everything on the blog as we could. OUR list is correct in all particulars, as far as we know.
So, turn to the Altadena town council page, and the official results. Look! The names are in the same order! Look! It'a "Allan" Wasserman! Look! Dr. Thomas represents a nonexistent census tract!
Crown City News blog has the same list, with original mistakes intact!
Cut and paste is wonderful, except when it isn't!
