The Chaney Trail gate, which is normally closed +/- 10 o'clock at night, will close at 5 PM on July 2-6, according to Sgt. Yolanda Palomo of the Altadena sheriff's station (fireworks -- drunks and boneheads -- dry forest -- not a good mix). The normal closure time will resume Monday, July 7.

Chaney Trail gate closure for Independence Day holiday
