Altadena composer Joan Huang attended the premiere of her work, "Impressions of Suzhou," as part of the Huntington Library's summer concert series. Huang, who grew up in Shanghai, wrote the piece to commemorate the gardens of Sozhou, China, where her grandparents are buried. It was a fitting premiere to celebrate the library's beautiful new Chinese Garden (Altadenablog's a big fan of the Huntington). PSN has a glowing piece on Huang today.
