The Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Works will hold two meetings during the day tomorrow, Wed., Oct 1, at the upper Davies Building Community Room at Farnsworth Park, 68 E. Mt. Curve.
The 9 AM meeting will be a community meeting with county engineers to discuss why they denied a request for speed humps on Wapello between Marengo and Lake Ave.
At noon, Carolyn F. Paynton from ISE Corporation will discuss a request from residents to have a bus service on Lake Ave. north of Altadena Dr. The proposal is for a hybrid bus with a quiet electric drive that has a gear reducer instead of a transmission. Transmissions typically fail having to drive such an incline on a regular basis. Currently many residents living north of Altadena Drive without their own transportation are force to walk up the incline. Many of these residents are elderly people.
