The Altadena Sheriff's Station Cycle-Thon got off to a bang-up start this morning, and is still going on even as we write. About 20 riders (and one runner) started the event, which commenced around 9:30. The cycle-thon will be followed by a dedication of the station flagpole and "historic hallway" at 11, and a barbecue at 11:30 (cost: $5.00). Come on down, if you haven't already!

Altadena town councilman Okorie Ezieme said he was going to try to run the event.
