We are in the midst of a brownout here on the campus of Altadenablog World Headquarters. All of our energy-eating appliances aren't moving, but the CFLs are doing fine, as is our internet connection
(which require little power). Edison says nothing's wrong, but we just told 'em something is. The folks across the street seem to have no lights at all.
UPDATE 8:50 PM: We're still in brownout conditions at World Headquarters in east Altadena. We were out in the field to check on a fire call (it was nothing) when ALL the lights went out. They were restored about 8:30, but brownout conditions still exist (and we are going to MISS the season premiere of LOST!)
Sheriff's station says it was a blown transformer. There's an Edison crew working about 2200 block of Holliston.
Meantime: we've received text messages from one correspondent, who says traffic signals were out on many streets east of Lake. About 8:37 PM, he/she texts that "Power just went out completely between Lake & Marengo north of Altadena Drive."
Scanner says that power is out at Fire Station 11, on Mariposa. We just drove past it, and the emergency lights seem to be on inside.
