Join Makinto in the Altadena Library Community Room, 600 E. Mariposa St., for a musical theater, educational and historical journey through African and African American music. In this animated and interactive show, Makinto explains the history of black people in America through the evolution of black music.
Makinto is an international recording artist, fluent in 5 languages, and has performed in more than 60 countries and 5 continents. He has performed for Pope John Paul 2, Nelson Mandela, arranged and composed for Miriam Makeba and has been TV host in Germany and France. He has been appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations agency WAFUNIF in 2002. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Altadena Library.
