The Altadena Historical Society has announced their summer tour -- one of our favorite places (but we're a frustrated Goth) -- the Mountain View Mausoleum!
Guided tour of Altadena's most elegant landmark.
Designed by Pasadena architect Clarence L. Jay and built in 1925 for
a cost exceeding $500.000, this hidden Altadena treasure is enriched
with imported Italian marble, art glass windows, ornate bronze doors
and features a 180 foot galleria with vaulted ceiling embellished
with 200 mural scenes depicting the story of Christianity.
Rarely available for tours, the mausoleum has been featured many times in Hollywood movies and television productions.
Join us for this special outing. Refreshments included with admission.
Tour is 1-4 PM, admission is $10/members, $15 non-members.
