Received this forwarded email from a reader -- maybe somebody knows something!
On Sunday, May 24th around noon, a group of riders
from Sylmar parked their trailer in
Hahamongna Watershed
Park and rode up the trail. As they
rode underneath the JPL footbridge one of the horses slipped and fell and
the rider fell off. The horse then ran away. The riders went looking for
the horse and asked people at RBR and within the park but no one had seen
anything. The Pasadena Humane Society, a helicopter, many RBR members on
foot and on horseback have searched but as of today, Wednesday, May 27th,
the horse is still missing.
The horse is described as a younger buckskin mare named Lilly. She was fully tacked with saddle, bridle, breast collar, halter, etc. We are waiting on pictures to send out and will hopefully get those to you all this week. At this point it seems unlikely that she is still wandering out in the arroyo. It's quite probable that someone found her and either just doesn't know where or how to return her, or maybe isn't planning on doing so at all. Let's spread the word quickly and hopefully find Lilly soon!
