Better late than never, but a note about today's aerial activity from Chris Consodine - The Skywatcher:
Not sure exactly why the Coast Guard is buzzing our little town at low altitude at 12:45pm this afternoon.
But the distinctive sound of the Swiss built copter and the bright orange and white color scheme left no doubt. Is there a body of water that I don't know about?...or maybe they were headed to the only body of water in the entire zone, Johnson Pond(lake), as they came back and buzzed the Rose Bowl area before heading out.
At the same time, the heavens were seemingly playing a bit of cosmic SCRABBLE in the sky as the clouds were actually in letter form today...A BIG Capital "L" was quite evident...and quite unusual.
