According to Pasadena Now, Pasadena/Altadena Vision 20/20, described as a "coalition of citizens and officials concerned about gang violence in Pasadena and Altadena," will hold a press conference at 1 PM today on the grounds of Pasadena City Hall to address gang violence in the area.
What this press conference hopes to accomplish is a little hard to divine at this point: Pasadena Now quotes organizer Tony Massengale:
Violence is bad. Check.
However, Altadena Sheriff Capt. Roosevelt Blow sent out an email this morning saying that Altadena law enforcement had not been invited to the conference. Pasadena Now reports that Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard has been invited but can't attend, and that Pasadena police "are aware that the press conference is happening Monday." Check out Stephanie Mojica's story for the details.
UPDATE 4 PM: Pasadena Now has a story about this afternoon's rally. Tom Hubbard reports that about 50 people attended.
