We weren't able to make Tuesday's meeting of the Altadena Town Council Land Use committee, but councilmember Alice Wessen has filed this report:
The Altadena Town Council's Land Use Committee met [Tues.] to review a
new ATT "monopalm" cell tower (i.e. it looks like a palm tree) at the
Lincoln Water Co. property on the 3400 block of Fair Oaks.
The applicant, Richard Ambrosini of Reliant Land Services, Inc. representing AT&T presented to Land Use.
He did not have the CUP with him. He did not have updated plans or images of what the cell tower would look like as a pine and at 60 feet rather than 100.
The actual coverage would only boost an area of approximately 1/8th to 1/2 of a mile.
Images attached of where the cell tower would be located on the Lincoln Water Company property. Note that applicant has changed the design from a Palm to a Pine tree at the request of local residents.[NOTE: see previous story with link to pdf here]
Members of the public did comment that they were supportive of having strong cell service and noted that there were drops in service in the area. Special concern was inability to get a consistent 911 call on their cells.
Users of IPhones were especially concerned with getting better service for their IPhones, which uses AT&T.
However the public comments also noted the incomplete application from the applicant.
Motion: Table action till next Land Use so applicant can get their paperwork current for Land Use hearing.
