From Michele Zack, we receive word that Altadena Heritage is holding a morning of presentations and practicum on making every precious drop of water count.
Zack will speak on "Eaton's Water: Altadena's first irrigation system." Tom Poplin of Horizon Landscaping will talk about irrigation systems, water-saving landscape practices, and retrofitting existing systems for efficient irrigation. J. Harold Mitchell of Irrigation and Landscape Supplies will answer all your questions.
In addition, attendees will critique the irrigation system at the Altadena Community Center, where the event is being held. 9-11 AM on Sat., Aug. 29, free to Altadena Heritage members, and $5 suggested donation for non-members. Please RSVP at (626) 797-0054 or altadenaheritage@earthlink.net
