Received from Eaton Canyon's superintendent:
Today, Monday, September 14, 2009, Eaton Canyon Natural Area Park is finally open -- with some parking limitations.
While the Park is open, the Nature Center continues to be closed on Mondays (except for holidays).
Portions of the upper parking lot will be closed until the last heavy equipment transporter exit the Park.
Most of the heavy equipment such as bull dozers and excavator had come out of the Canyon through Park trail and parking lot between Saturday and Sunday. Only one heavy equipment transporter remains on the upper parking lot waiting for a broken-down bull dozer that has been stuck on the toll road waiting on repair.
The National Forest area remains closed. The fire is not completely contained and is still burning miles north east of the Park.
The Park is not in danger.
The "burn operation" over the weekend was a success. Fire crews have stopped accessing Park trails and staging at the Park.
