- Pasadena Master Chorale (under the direction of artistic director/conductor Jeffrey Bernstein of Altadena) will kick off its first full season with a concert of "Songs of the World": cherished American classics, well-known European tunes, and other a capella surprises, at Altadena Community Church, 943 E. Altadena Drive. 4 PM. There is also a performance at First Congregational Church, 464 E. Walnut in Pasadena, on Sat., Sept. 19 at 7:30.
