Thurs., Oct. 8
- Read for the Record: help break the record for reading a single book on the same day, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Readings are at 4 PM at the Altadena Main Library and 4:30 at the Bob Lucas Branch.
- Historically Black College and University night at Loma Alta Park, 6-9 PM: ask questions, meet alumni, and find out about these schools of higher learning.
- Foothill Municipal Water District public forum, 6:30 PM at the Community Center.

- The Girl Scouts will have a pumpkin patch and activities today and Sunday, 9 AM-4 PM, at Camp Mariposa, 615 E. Mariposa.
- Arroyo Food Co-op's big membership launch, 9-11 AM at the Community Center.
- Art on Palm's fall show, 9:30 AM-5 PM at Wildwood Park on the east end of Palm.
- Christmas Tree Lane "Lights Up" starts, 9-12 -- coffee & donuts to start, lunch provided after the end.
Sun. Oct. 11
- Bluegrass Jam at the Coffee Gallery Backstage, 12:30 - 3:30 PM.
