This was sent to us about 6 PM tonight from a reader who wishes to remain anonymous:
We got home this evening to find our house had been broken into. We live on Maiden, just north of Dolores. After trying to get in through a cat door and failing, they just pushed through a set of old french doors, shattering the threshold. I'm sure they were disappointed with their haul, just a 2 year old laptop that was purchased new for $400 and was password protected and about $225 in cash (much more than we usually have on hand!). They went through drawer and files, etc, most likely looking for cash. Just very sad that what has always been a very safe neighborhood is now seeing this crime wave. Sheriff was called, but hasn't shown up yet.
