Taking a little personal privilege and veering out of Altadena for a bit ...
It is our new theory that Bill Westphal -- like God -- is everywhere. (He may not keep his eye on the sparrow, but he definitely does on the weather.)
In any event, we were in downtown Pasadena this morning to lend our support to a walkathon supporting one of our favorite places, Club 21, a resource center for people with Down Syndrome, and much to our total surprise guess who (with wife Lynne) was there walking? And he filed this report:
Today I had the honor of walking for a
cause. Club 21, an organization that promotes knowledge and resources
that enable individuals with Down syndrome to be fully included in our
society, held a 5K Walk through the streets of Pasadena today.
The 2010 Rose Court was on hand at the opening ceremonies along with Mayor Bogaard.
Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard and Club 21 executive director Nancy Litteken.
The looks on their faces when they got to touch a dog was amazing.
It was fun to walk the streets and see all the shops that you miss driving by at 35 MPH.
And we ran into the nicest people along the way. Lynne & Rosie.
I am DEFINITELY doing this again next year.
