The Altadena Community Center was the scene for a sendoff of Sheriff Capt. Roosevelt Blow, who retires today after 33 years in law enforcement and three years as Altadena Station's commander. Many well-wishers attended the reception, including Altadena Library District board member Tom Hubbard and Star-News columnist Shirlee Smith. (Since Hubbard's wife Monica is a force on the "Yes on CC" campaign, and Smith ... is not, we see his bridge-building skills at work!)
