The Aveson charter school, presently located at the site of the old Noyes school, is looking to expand into northwest Altadena for their grade 6-12 academy.
According to the Aveson Compass, the school's email newsletter, they're looking at the site of the eternally-under-construction mall at the corner of Lincoln Ave. and Altadena Dr. for the Aveson Global Leadership Academy:
Aveson is in the process of working with the owners of the building on developing a long term lease agreement which would include building the 22,000 square feet interior space to perfectly suit our instructional model.
The location of this building supports the Aveson’s mission to provide educational opportunities for students who reside in the Northwest corridor of Pasadena/Altadena. Having the opportunity to build the space helps us to ensure personalized learning. We can design classroom space for direct instruction and open space for individual work spaces and project work. Another advantage is the fact this building is located in the county rather than the city so the permitting process is smoother and faster. This gives us high hopes for a fall start date.
Aveson has also reached out to the northwest neighborhoods through an email, inviting them to a "meet and greet" at an unspecified future time.
