One of our correspondents tells us that one of their neighbors suffered a break-in on Calavaras just west of Marengo Friday night after 10 PM, and deputies arrived with guns drawn:
Homeowner had returned to broken front window and lights on in his home and called 911 rather than enter the home. Thieves had already absconded with many items of value and torn up house looking for stealables. Stay on alert, they're moving east!
