Deputies put one man in custody today following a chase on local streets that went as fast as 50 mph.
Sheriffs were called to a disturbance at the 200 block of E. Woodbury at 10:57 this morning with reports of a possible assault with a deadly weapon and reports of a gun. According to the watch commander, as the deputy arrived at the scene, a Monte Carlo took off at a high rate of speed.
Deputies followed the car, which drove at speeds as high as 50 mph on neighborhood streets (which included Fair Oaks). Deputies followed the car for a little under two miles until it drove back to location and the driver was arrested. According to the watch commander, the incident was an altercation between a brother and sister, and no gun was found. The man in custody is being held on charges of minor assault and evading police.
