A message from Altadena town council chair Gino Sund:
A couple of months ago I had asked for community input on the need to replace some of the boxes that had been removed from Altadena. There were four locations identified by the residents as being candidates for replacement. Ruth Edwards Vice Chair of Town Council and I met with the Postmaster to request the reinstallation of those four boxes. He rejected one location as having parking and traffic difficulties and agreed to survey the other three sites. After the survey, he agreed to work up the chain of command to get two of the boxes replaced. Last week those two boxes were reinstalled: one at Sinaloa & Meadowbrook and one at NY & Hill. This is not all we asked for, but in light of the Postal Service's financial difficulties, we can be happy with this small victory.Thank to Postmaster Peter Cuadros for responding to the community, and to you for your responses and help with this. And special thanks to Congressman Adam Schiff's staff for their help.
(... and the two boxes NOT replaced were the ones closest to Altadenablog World Headquarters. Grumble, grumble!)
