In a competitive process, sixty-five young people were chosen to participate in a summer program sponsored by Supv. Michael D. Antonovich that offers training, experience and opportunities working with the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation at parks throughout the Fifth District including Eaton Canyon Park, Farnsworth Park, Loma Alta Park, and Charles White Park.
Participating youth are currently enrolled in high school or college and between the ages of 16 and 24 and will assist Parks staff with: presentation of arts, dance, music, and theater programs, development of special recreation programs for seniors, youth, and the handicapped, planning and coordination of community center athletic activities and tournaments, leagues and contests.
