Some activities next weekend that are worth putting on your calendar NOW -- including the Library's annual book sale -- after the jump:
- On Sat., May 15, 4-6 PM, Revvell Revati will be offering a FREE workshop on women's self-defense, fitness, and fun in Altadena. "Self-Esteem often includes fitness, weight management and self-care," Revell writes. "Might as well learn something useful and have fun doing it!" Space is limited! Call for Altadena address and more info: (818) 824-4422.
- Don't forget that the Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale will be next weekend at the Altadena Library: Sat. , May 15, 10 AM - 4 PM, Sun., May 16. 1-5 PM, with a special pre-sale for Friends members from 3-7 PM on Fri., May 14.
- Christmas Tree Lane's annual Lane Maintenance Workdays will be May 15-16 and 22-23. We would like to
invite
all
of you with green thumbs (and not so green) to join us during our
annual Lane Maintenance workdays. Starting at 9 AM, volunteers will be cleaning and weeding around all of the trees on the Lane, As with both "Lights Up" and
"Take
Down," the action starts on Santa Rosa
between Altadena Dr. and Mariposa. Unlike other times, the street will
not be closed because we will be staying close to the trees and in the
gutters. Tools and gardening equipment will be available, but if you have tools that you love to use, feel free to bring
them.
Like other work days on Christmas Tree Lane, there will be donuts, coffee, hot chocolate, and bottled water for all the volunteers who show up and a homemade lunch after we are done for the day. Also if you plan to bring a group that is more then five people and plan to stay for lunch, please email or call at 626-403-1123 so insure enough food for all.
