We received this note from our friends Petrea Burchard (Pasadena Daily Photo), Karin Bugge (the Altadenahiker) and Barbara Ellis (aka "Bellis," a frequent local blog commenter):
You may know that on July 12th, the Pasadena City Council will be considering whether or not to build two soccer fields in Hahamongna Watershed Park.
Although soccer's a fine sport, we feel that Hahamongna is not the place for soccer fields and the City has alternatives for soccer field construction. We're holding a mass blogging day on Wednesday, July 7th to publicize opposition to soccer fields at Hahamongna. We hope you'll join us.Here's what to do:1. Respond to this email by 7PM on July 5th, to let us know if you'll be participating in Hahamongna Blog Day. Include in your response your name and url.2. On July 6th, you'll receive a list of urls of all participants.3. On July 7th, post in your own words your opposition to soccer fields in Hahamongna Watershed Park. Include in your post the urls of other bloggers participating in Hahamongna Blog Day so people can visit all the participants. Here are a few resources for information. If you'd like to know more, let us know and we'll do our best to point you to resources.Websites where you can find information:You can also email the mayor and the City Council members individually.
