Are you ready for some football? Add the Altadena Ale House to the list of local places (i.e. Rancho Bar and Bulgarini Gelato) that are showing live World Cup coverage (and yes, that means the 4:30 AM Algeria vs. Slovenia match Friday morning!)
Frodo at the Rancho: Speaking of the Rancho Bar (our newest sponsor, thank you!) they tell us that Ultimate Fighting Championship referee Herb Dean and actor Elijah Wood were there for karaoke night on Tuesday.
Alta-tucky: Reader Jon Block writes: "I've been watching the first season of the TBS tv show Justified, and am
amazed how many Altadena locations I've spotted (did you know we can
stand in for Kentucky?)." The list includes the Rancho (we're spotting a trend), Ace's Smoke Shop next door, the Davies Building at Farnsworth Park, the restaurant that is now El Patron, and Twin Dragons Martial Arts. Add to that the Julienne Moore/Steve Carell film they recently finished shooting on Minoru Dr., and the Tom Hanks movie on Lake Ave., and this has been a busy season of filmmaking on our streets.
