Today is the last day to get in on the Gallery at the End of the World's Altadena Artist's Home Studio Tour. Altadena artists have opened their home studios this weekend to the public to show them where the artistic process happens. Owner Ben McGinty was hoping for 100 visitors over the weekend, and he was at 91 when we checked in at the end of the day Saturday. We spent an afternoon visiting some of the studios and talking to the artists in their native environment.
Painter/muralist Lynne McDaniel showed some of her smaller works, including this piece where she served as her own model.
Evan Chambers, who shared his work at McDaniel's studio, works in metals and blown glass (we were particularly struck by these steampunk-looking bird-legged desklamps!)
There's still time to see these great artists and their wonderful work. The tour runs from 10AM-3PM today, and tickets are $8 at the Gallery, 2475 N. Lake Ave.
