Take Sunset, an architecture and real estate blog, looks at a Gregory Ain house on Highview that's on the market (looks like a big white shoebox to us, but don't get us started on the modernists ...)
Local artist Heather Morrow will lead a workshop on creating a "fairy box" at Kat Scrap Studio, 2455 N. Lake, on Sat., June 12, 2-4 PM. Morrow says that the workshop will "guide you to create a
unique jewelry box that will truly be a work of art, inspired by your
own vision." Each participant will be provided with the
necessary supplies, but you are welcome to bring any objects or
embellishments to add to your work (or share). $35 - includes all
materials, and reservations are encouraged. For more information, call (626) 398-0355 or go to: http://www.cr8ivesouls.com/art_workshops.html]
Shirlee Smithlooks at the foster youth program she shepherded through the Altadena Library last month. Takeaway line for us: "As he goes through life, this library-card
plastic will serve him so much better than credit-card plastic."
