The Los Angeles County Sheriff announced tonight that six men were arrested for burglary and other charges in a joint operation between Altadena deputies and the Pasadena Police Dept.
A sheriff's press release said:
On July 20 through 22, 2010, Detectives from Altadena Station and the Pasadena Police Department conducted a joint operation to combat residential burglaries in both jurisdictions. The operation resulted in the arrest of six male adult suspects on charges such as residential burglary, possession of stolen property and grand theft auto. Two of the suspects were additionally charged for violation of parole.In addition, several pieces of stolen property were recovered, including a vehicle, laptop computers, big screen television and cellular telephones. All of the suspects are suspected members of a local street gang. The investigation into their connection to additional crimes in Altadena and Pasadena is ongoing.
UPDATE 11 PM: LA Times is saying "at least a dozen" gang members arrested, but we're not sure we trust that number yet.
UPDATE 7/23, 11:45 PM: We were right not to trust that number: sheriffs say Pasadena PD (which LA Times used as a source) is wrong, it's six arrested. A copy of the press release on this is after the jump.
