UPDATE 8/24: We were given bad information: admission is free!
Celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote --"The Power of Peaceful Resistance and Women’s “NO!” -- in a special celebration at the Altadena Library, 600 E. Mariposa St. on Thurs., Aug. 26, 6:30-9 PM.
Do you know the history of what it took for women and girls to win the vote? Their efforts pre-dated Gandhi’s message of civil disobedience, civil “No!”
Light refreshments; have dinner before you come! Have fun with "guessing" who's who in Women's History; meet like-minded people; listen to powerful passionate women and learn how to say "No!" to those things that don't feel right.
Speakers include Pauline Field, a mini-workshop on personal safety by Ellen Snortland of Impact Personal Safety and remarks by Sherry Simpson Dean.
