Altadena sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a "man with a gun" on the 1500 block of Holliston Ave. at about 2 PM today. According to Det. Lt. Joe Dempsey, the weapon was a BB gun and the man was "possibly mentally disturbed." Still too early to tell if there will be any charges.

Our man-on-the-spot, Chris Considine, who took these pictures, reports that "five vehicles with officers and weapons drawn had surrounded a house." After a loudspeaker call to “anyone in the house at 1530 N Holliston to come out with your hands up and to contact the nearest deputy," three deputies with weapons at ready entered the house, but came out empty-handed.

Chris reports that there was another massing of patrol cars around the house at about 3 PM, where a white SUV with tailgate and door open was parked in the driveway.
