Being a Weather Enthusiast, I thought I was hearing thunder. But wait, there were no clouds in the sky. It was DRUMS!. And the rhythm was fantastic. The beat was enticing. I followed the sound to Farnsworth Park about a half mile away. I couldn't believe the sound was traveling so far and so clear. Anybody close to the top of Lake MUST have heard it.
What I found was JMADA, the John Muir Alumni Drummers Association ( http://muiralumnidrumcorp.org/ ). They were lined up on the Basketball Court at Farnsworth Park. I moved in closer. The sound up close was unbelievable.
I thought they were practicing, but after talking to the Drum Instructor, Mark Chappell, it turns out they were auditioning for a commercial. The representative couldn't tell me what type of commercial they were auditioning for but we wish them the best of luck and hope they get the part.
