- KUMI: Ten Years, a retrospective on the works of Ngene Mwaura 2000-2010 will be the one-man show opening at the Gallery at the End of the World. The exhibition will feature a body of work that has taken ten years to complete with many new, never-before seen pieces of art. Opening reception is 5-10 PM. The Gallery at the End of the World is open from 12-6 PM during the week.
Sat., Oct. 2
- Library renovation and expansion: The Altadena Library District will hold a community meeting on its plans for renovation and expansion on Sat., Oct. 2, from 10 AM-1 PM at the Altadena Library, 600 E. Mariposa. The program will include a presentation of current plans and alternatives for a proposed library expansion, and an opportunity for the public to comment on the plans.
- The library also hosts an opening reception for "Remnants, The Art of 3D Scanning" by Michael E. Stern as October's art in the Community Room, 5-7 PM.
- The members of the Pasadena Master Chorale present THE GOLDEN AGE, a concert featuring exquisite selections from some of the most beautiful mass settings including the Pange Lingua Mass of Josquin and the Pope Marcellus Mass of Palestrina, as well as works by Byrd, Tallis, Weelkes and Monteverdi. This time, it's an intimate concert featuring 22 of PMC's 80 members singing a cappella atl Altadena Community Church, 7:30 PM. Program has a Sunday matinee at 4 PM.
