Special to Altadenablog
About 400 people enjoyed the evening in the Farnsworth Park Amphitheater Saturday night listening to the sounds of Randy Caputo's Legends Show Band. They played tributes to many of the artists of yesteryear including the Andrews Sisters, Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich to name a few.
But before they got started, they paid tribute to the fallen heroes of 9-11. The Altadena Sheriff's Station Explorer Color Guard presented the colors and the "Andrews Sisters" sang the National Anthem in the background.
Here, L-R Dawn Shelden, Carla Fiore & Gina Harlan do a tribute to the Andrews Sisters singing "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy"
Gina Harlan does a solo in a tribute to Connie Francis.
The highlight of the evening was the Drum Battle of Jimmy Ford on the left as "Buddy Rich" and Randy Caputo on the right as "Gene Krupa." They definitely had everybody's toes tapping.
This was the grand finale of the 2010 Summer Concert Series by the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena. We'd like to thank everyone who attended the concerts and we look forward to seeing you all next year.
