Join Webster's Fine Stationers (Altadenablog sponsor) this Friday, Nov. 19, for "A Night at the (Rock) Opera with HB3" as we present local author Hugh Bonar and his book Avalon.
A riveting adventure centering around 1930's Catalina Island, Avalon recounts the life of its protagonist, Bill Livingstone, and his relationship with the island and his father.
Avalon incorporates humor and insight; is tragic and odd.
Hugh Bonar is an Altadena-based artist, teacher and musician. He has reviewed films for the LA Weekly and Spin Magazine and was a member of the pioneering electro-rock band, Nature.
Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter Mario Martin Zelaya will be playing selections from the book's soundtrack. Mr. Bonar will be playing a few tunes as well, and will be available to sign his books.
At 6 PM, prior to the book signing, OddBallGrape.com's Anne Bannon and Michael Holland will be leading us in a tasting of this year's Beaujolais Nouveau release paired with traditional holiday foods.
Mark the date and times on your calendar to make sure you don't miss this exciting evening of literature, music, wine and fun!
