The National Weather Service says a storm system developing off the coast will bring “significant rain and mountain snow” this weekend. A cold front associated with the storm is expected to move across Ventura and Los Angeles Counties Saturday, bringing wind (gusts around 35 MPH, possibly 60 MPH in the mountains) along with rain and lots of it: preliminary estimates are 0.75-1.5 inches across the coast and the valleys, with 1.5 to 2.5 inches in the mountains.
Snow levels will drop by Saturday night to around 4500 ft., and about a foot of snow is predicted. Weather Service says there will be a lull Saturday night and Sunday morning, but then another front is predicted to move in, bringing with it more rain and mountain snow.
