Jim Curry, who has performed his John Denver tribute at the Coffee Gallery Backstage many times, will be performing in a two special shows in the venue this weekend.Jim Curry's tribute to the Christmas music of John Denver will have a 2 PM matinee and 7 PM performance tomorrow, Dec. 12. In addition to his band (wife Anne on vocals and mandolin, Diane Ireland on flutes and Marty Hillman on keyboard), this weekend's shows will feaure guest performer Steve Weisberg.
Weisberg was a member of Denver's band at the height of his career (1973-77), playing lead guitar, dobro, pedal steel, and singing low harmony. Weisberg also wrote songs for the last seven of Denver's nine platinum albums. They will perform Steve's song, "Christmas for Cowboys," as well as other popular Christmas tunes featured on John Denver's Christmas albums.
