Now that Christmas is over, it's time for that Day of Enforced Joy, New Year's Eve. If you're going down the hill in the motorhome, Pasadena police volunteers will be reminding people about the Parade Watch, which is like neighborhood watch for parade campers: All vehicles parked within one block of the parade route may be subject to search. People are asked not to leave vehicles parked unattended overnight within one block of the parade route. Unattended vehicles may be subject to enforcement under the City’s parking limitation or prohibition ordinance which may include towing. The Police Department also asks that people in proximity of the parade route report any suspicious people, activity, vehicles or circumstances by calling (626) 744-4241.
A resident in the upper McNally area reported the license plate stolen from their vehicle in the past couple of days, says Carolyn Seitz. Because the whole front license plate mount and the bumper molding strip were also gone, they thought it was highly probable that the plate had been stolen, and that it didn't just fall off. Deputies say this is a highly unusual event for Altadena, but something to look out for.
Outward Bound Adventures executive director Charles Thomas is leaving in January to take a position with the National Parks Service, he says in OBA's winter newsletter (he will move move over to OBA's board of directors). Ken Preston will take over as interim director while the search for a new executive takes place.
