Two neighborhoods in Altadena had organized Food and Toy Drives to benefit the Altadena Sheriff's Station Food and Toy Drive this weekend. The President's Streets in east Altadena held their 2nd Annual Food and Toy Drive where donations are given to the Altadena Sheriff's Station to benefit their Annual Food and Toy Drive.
The Presidents Streets
Organized by Lisa Gibson, they did this as a way of saying "Thank You" to the Altadena Sheriff's Station. Residents from the Presidents Streets area stopped by to drop off donations of food and toys. It was very well organized.

Santa Claus was there and rode through the streets in a patrol car to rally the neighbors.

La Vina
Organized by Sondra DeJardin, this was also well organized. They have been doing this for several years and drop off gift bags to the residents for them to use for their donations. A lot of local children show up to help with the event and it was a huge success.

The DeJardin's collected quite a few toys themselves and had them ready for pickup in their driveway.
This group shot of the volunteers at La Vina show all the happy faces of those gathered together to help. The toys that were donated filled the sheriff's van and their pickup truck.
And, it's not too late to donate. Donations of food and toys can still be dropped off at the Sheriffs Station next week. Just bring your donations to the Sheriff's Station, 780 E. Altadena Drive. Go to the trailer in the parking lot and the Deputies will be glad to accept your donations.
