Pasadena Educational Network reminds us that open enrollment begins this week:
The general filing period for Open Enrollment applications begins today, January 24, and continues through 5:00 pm on Friday, February 11. Applications must be filed online this year. Computer terminals and assistance will be available at the District office Welcome Center and at school sites on specified days. Applicants will receive an electronic confirmation upon successfully filing their online application.
For a list of projected openings by grade level at each school site, click here.
REMEMBER: Open Enrollment (OE) applications are not processed in the order filed. At the end of the application period, applications will be assigned random numbers and reviewed in random order.
You may list up to 3 choices, in order of preference. If space is not available at your first choice, you will be wait-listed for that school, and your second and (if necessary) third choices will be considered. You will not be wait-listed for your second or third choice schools.
Families will be notified by letter of the results of the Open Enrollment application process the first week of March.
NOTE: Families interested in either of the Dual Language Immersion Programs (Mandarin-English or Spanish-English) - if you did not already apply for a DLIP program during the December Priority OE period, you will have another opportunity to apply during the week of February 28-March 4, 2011. You may want to think about your back-up plan now, in the event that you don't get into a DLIP program during this second application period. If your neighborhood school is not your preferred back-up plan, be sure to submit a general OE application before the Feb. 11 deadline.
