Altadena Sheriff Lt. Joe Dempsey has updated us on last week's major police activity:
Jan. 26 parole sweep: the joint operation with Pasadena PD, Glendale PD, California Highway Patrol, and the Dept. of Corrections Probation division checked 66 locations, leading to 12 arrests and the seizure of four firearms.
Jan. 27 drugs and gun bust: David Catchings, 52, was arrested for illegal possession of an assault weapon and possession of marijuana for sale in a joint operation of the Pasadena Police Dept. and Altadena Sheriffs Thursday night. Dempsey said that a search of the house on the 3600 block of North Fair Oaks yielded several guns, two of them assault rifles, and approximately two pounds of marijuana. Catchings is presently out on bail, Dempsey said.
