- Altadena Community Farmer's Market, 8 AM-3 PM, Sacred Heart Church, 2889 N. Lincoln Ave. The smart money says get there about mid-day, as all of the vendors are open and there's still stuff to be sold.
- Mt. Wilson Observatory Assn. free public lecture: Dr. Gary Peterson, professor of geology at San Diego State University, will talk about "The Capture of the Moon." Refreshments at 3:30 PM, lecture at 4 PM at the Altadena Main Library, 600 E. Mariposa.
- The Caltech Jazz Bands present their annual Latin jazz concert on Sat., Jan. 22, at 8 PM in Beckman Auditorium on the Caltech campus. There will be two great Latin jazz bands, a mariachi band, salsa dances, and vocalist Candi Sosa. This is a free concert for the entire family.
