Head's up on water: From March 18 to 27, a seismic retrofit will be performed at the Metropolitan Water District’s F.E. Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in La Verne, which provides water via a pipeline through the San Gabriel Valley. (The water companies serving Altadena and Pasadena get a substantial amount of water from MWD) This will mean a 40 percent shutdown of imported water in Pasadena for 10 days and possibly longer, and probably a similar situation will exist in Altadena. We are getting full details from MWD on what this will mean to Altadena next week and will share them as soon as possible.
