Loving husband and father, Tim Gripp, passed away on February 16, 2011. He was 59 years old. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pam, and their children, Erin, Brendan and Hayley. Tim is also survived by his father, Tom Gripp, Sr., his brothers, Tom, Jr. and Bob, sisters, Lenore Highet and Jane Clarke, as well as nieces and nephews, Todd, Ryan, Jenni, Callie and Andrew and his dog, Webster.
Tim was born in Pasadena, California and was raised in La Crescenta, attending Crescenta Valley High School. He attended University of California at Berkeley where he was president of his fraternity, Delta Kappa Epsilon and played rugby for the “Old Blues”. Tim began his career with Bateman, Eichler, Hill, Richards as a stockbroker and after 13 years, opened his own financial planning company with Independent Financial Group. He worked in the community, sharing his time and talents with the Good Shepherd Shelter for Battered Women and Children. Planning their annual summer party and lending a loving hand during the holidays was very special for Tim.
Tim married the love of his life, Pam, on February 23, 1985. They had three children and he was actively involved in their lives. He coached all three children in East Altadena Little League over the span of 14 years and participated in fundraising campaigns for the league. At their elementary school, St. Philip the Apostle, he tirelessly volunteered, co-chairing the Fall Festival as well as three Dinner Dance and Silent Auction events. His children all attended LaSalle High School in Pasadena where he served on the Board of Regents. Tim never missed an opportunity to cheer his children on at LaSalle sporting events and attended their theater productions.
“He was the rock and foundation of our family. He was our biggest fan with his love and support of all of our endeavors. We loved him very much and he will be greatly missed by each one us.” ~Pam Gripp
